The New Motorcycle Yearbook 2
Already in its second year, ‘The New Motorcycle Yearbook’ builds on its already impressive credentials with another superbly presented tome of all the best motorcycles for the forthcoming year. Intended to build into an almost definitive guide to all that is new in motorcycling as each year passes, this latest version continues the very high standards set by the first volume last year.
Using high quality colour plates from the manufacturers, it ensures that the bikes pictured, are the definitive item. These superb studio and action shots are spread across two pages as before and are backed up by incisive comment from the author Simon de Burton, a well respected motorcycle journalist.
Split into sections such as Tourers, Sports Bikes etc, you can find all the latest bikes on sale and some that are yet to see the dealer’s showroom floors until well into next year. While the exotica and hyper-fast machines are covered, so to are the more mundane and there are also chapters on the designers and a predictive four pages on trends, both for the bikes and riding apparel.
For those that love the extreme and bizarre, the ‘Oddballs’ section will fascinate, as too will de Burton’s take on motorcycling as we currently know it!
This hardback series containing over 250 high quality pages is likely to become a historical record of motorcycling and a must have for any enthusiast. My advice is to get in quick and pay the £24.95 asking price while they are available, as I have a feeling the prices will rise when they are not!
The book will be published on the 16th October 2006 and be available from all good bookshops or direct from the Merrell’s the publisher (01235 465500). ISBN 1-85894-338-8
