Television presenter and moustached comedian Rufus Hound will be sharing hosting duties with legendary sports commentator Steve Parrish at this year’s Triumph Live, which takes place at Mallory Park, Leicestershire on August 31 - September 2, 2012. Triumph Live takes place every two years and expects to attract around 15,000 motorcycle and music fans to the 2012 event. A packed programme is on offer including a unique 110th Triumph anniversary exhibition, stunt bike shows, custom bike competition, the Triumph Triple Challenge in action, Triumph Clothing Megastore, on and off road demo rides and the reveal of a brand new motorcycle. Each day’s action will be rounded off by a live music programme with Brit rockets REEF headlining Friday night and NME award winners, Kaiser Chiefs headlining Saturday’s line up. Hound is a huge Triumph fan and lists the Bonneville as his favourite bike of all time. He is well known for his appearances on Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice and is currently appearing in Utopia at the Soho Theatre in London. As a former presenter of Top of the Pops (Rufus claims he didn’t kill the show and was just standing near it when it died), Rufus will be the MC for both Friday and Saturday night’s live music progammes, introducing Friday night headliners Reef and Saturday’s, Kaiser Chiefs, plus their respective supporting acts. Parrish, who has a long association with Triumph, will be soaking up the atmosphere on the Friday (August 31) before hosting the paddock stage on Saturday, to make sure the audience is updated on events throughout the main day of activities. Rufus Hound said: "Triumph Live will be a fantastic weekend of loud bikes, cool beer and great music. Or cool bikes, great beer and loud music. Or great bik... well, you get the idea. I'm delighted to be taking on host duties on the main stage as I bloody love Triumph and getting the chance to spend the weekend with a bunch of people who feel the same is a real treat. Bring it on!" Steve Parrish said: “I am obviously really excited about my first time at Triumph Live and am looking forward to making sure the weekend goes off with a real bang. I’ve personally had a long love affair with Triumph – as a rider and long-time supporter of this great British brand. Anyone who loves bikes, good music or is simply looking for a great day out, needs to get down to Mallory Park this summer.” Tickets are on sale now at triumph-live.com, priced at £47 for a weekend pass or £27 for Saturday-only access. Entry for under 16s – accompanied by a paying adult - is free. Onsite camping will be available from Thursday until Sunday, including toilet/shower facilities, a secure bike park and safety deposit boxes. Camping costs £15 per person for the weekend and must be pre-booked. Pre-erected tents by Tangerine Fields are available at an additional cost.
