Motorcycle test passes are continuing to grow according to latest Department for Transport figures released today. Module 1 passes climbed from 30,891 in financial year 2009/10 up to 37,233 in 2010/11 and 42,031 in 2011/12 - A rise of 36% over the three years. Module 2 passes climbed from 26,474 in financial year 2009/10 up to 34,485 in 2010/11 and 39,926 in 2011/12 - A rise of 51% over the three years. Female passes grew to around the 3,500 mark in both modules, representing around 1 in 11 of all passes. Note: Module 1 contains the specified manoeuvres element of the test which is conducted off-road. It includes exercises designed to assess the rider's ability to control their machine safely, including avoidance and emergency stop exercises. Module 2 includes an eyesight test and 30 minutes of on-road riding, assessing the rider's ability to safely interact with other road users. Article source: Redcat Marketing Ltd
