In a week that promises to be emblazoned on local residents minds for many years to come, Uppingham dealership, Sycamore Harley-Davidson, is throwing open its doors to the local community with a fundraising BBQ. The event, held at the dealership’s North Street premises, will start at 12.30pm on Tuesday 3 July and the BBQ will be fired up at 2pm.

Local families are invited along to join in the fun, regardless of whether they have an interest in motorcycles or not and two local charities will benefit from money raised on the day. Proceeds from the sale of food and drink at the BBQ will be donated to the Rutland Air Ambulance, while money made from the raffle will go to the Rainbows Hospice.

Dealer Principal Andrew Winham said, “We hope that lots of local families will join us for this free, fun family event. We have plenty of activities to keep the children occupied and two great local charities will benefit from activities on the day.

“Plus, the event will be wrapped up by us all witnessing the local leg of the torch relay at around 4.30pm, which will be a great honour and we feel that it’s best to mark the occasion with as many people as possible in our cheer crowd. As a Harley dealer we’re used to loud, rumbling sounds, so we hope that the local community will join us to help create our loudest roar yet!”
