KTM scoops MX awards at FIM gala |

 The International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) Gala in Estoril, Portugal, was an occasion to celebrate KTM’s six world champions from the 2011 season as well as to pay tribute to long-term planning and hard work - not just by the talented factory riders but of all those associated with achieving the company’s best ever results. Pit Beirer, KTM’s head of Motorsport said the FIM Gala and recognition of KTM’s success made him very proud to have so many KTM World Champions in 2011. On hand to receive their World Championship gold medals were KTM’s Tony Cairoli, MX1 World Champion; Ken Roczen, MX2 World Champion; Steffi Laier, WMX World Champion; Taddy Blazusiak, Indoor Enduro World Champion; Pauls Jonass, 85 cc MX Junior World Champion and Jorge Prado Garcia, Spain, 65 cc MX Junior World Champion. KTM also took a total of five manufacturer’s titles in MX in 2011. Pit Beirer: “The FIM Gala was a great night and it gave us the opportunity to express how proud we are of our riders and all those associated with the factory teams. This success could only be achieved with belief and support from our management, consequent long term planning, the talent and skill of our riders and the dedication of the entire team who work so hard behind the scenes.” Beirer was also given the opportunity to speak at the FIM Symposium on the day of the Gala, in the presence of delegates from all of FIMs member countries throughout the world. “It was a great honor for me to be able to speak about how to reach your goals and be successful,” he said. He also paid tribute to the FIM and the various promoters of the major international competitions: ABC, Youthstream and Dorna for their efforts in putting together the various motorcycle world championships series.
