Cold temperatures and wet weather conditions this morning at the Miller Motorsport Park at Salt Lake City, in the U.S.A. for the Superbike free practice, with some dark clouds that obscured the track. The sessions started on a wet track but towards the middle of the session
it stopped raining and the track conditions became better. David Salom reached eighteenth position (2’11”525) while teammate Tati Mercado (2’13”575) spent the free practice session working to familiarize himself with Miller, a completely new circuit for him. He obtained the
twenty-first place. The afternoon's qualifying started on a dry track and saw Mercado (1’52”288) capitalize on the earlier session, improving on his best time set in the morning, confirming his twenty first position. Salom (1’51”055) definitively made a positive start to the
weekend and took the fifteenth fastest time of the day in the first qualifying session.

Superbike – Saturday qualifying session : 1) Smrz (Ducati) - 2) Checa (Ducati) - 3) Melandri (BMW) – 4) Biaggi (Aprilia) – 5) Giugliano (Ducati) …... 15) Salom (Kawasaki) ….. 21) Mercado (Kawasaki)

David Salom: “Today we worked intensively to find the best possible set up for my Kawasaki. This morning the track was wet and it was difficult for me also because unfortunately I'm still feeling pain in my shoulder. This afternoon on a dry track I was able to push harder and I
reached fifteenth position which is a good result, but now I’m experiencing a lot of pain. Hopefully tonight I’ll be able to rest and feel better tomorrow. I hope the Clinica Mobile will be able to help me reduce the pain which will allow me to ride in the best possible manner, but
tomorrow I’ll try my best to improve my position because I want to reach the top ten to enter the Superpole.”

Tati Mercado: “I’m pretty satisfied with my qualifying and practice today, also because it was my first time at this track. Of course I’m not satisfied with my final position but I have gained confidence with the bike and I think with some small adjustments we can make further
improvements tomorrow and be fighting for a good grid position. I like this track although I need to improve through certain sections
