Today was the second day of qualifying at the Motorland Aragon in Spain for team Pedercini’s Superbike riders David Salom and Tati Mercado. Temperatures were significantly lower than they were yesterday and in this morning’s second qualifying session Salom (1’59”474) was able to improve yesterday’s best lap time by over two seconds, though unfortunately that wasn’t enough to enter the Superpole. The Spanish rider obtained only the seventeenth position. Mercado was also able to improve on his performances (2’00”975) but only reached
the twenty-second place, missing out on the Superpole. During free practice both Salom (1’37”701) and Mercado (1’37”216) were able to work hard with their team on their bike’s set up to be ready for tomorrow races. Salom (2’00”371) was nineteenth while Mercado (2’02”089) twenty-first. Tomorrow Salom will start from the fifth row while Mercado from the sixth in the two 20 laps races.

David Salom: “This morning we missed out on the Superpole also because I preferred towork on my bike’s set up to find a good race pace instead of making one single fast lap. We still have some setting problems to solve and we worked hard again in the afternoon’s free
session to prepare my bike for tomorrow’s races. Tomorrow morning we will decide on our race set up and tyre choice, and then look forward to the races.”

Tati Mercado: “I’m a little disappointed because I was not able to enter the Superpole. Unfortunately my bike is sliding a lot, especially in the lowest curves. It’s the same problem I suffered during yesterday’s practice and qualifying. During the afternoon free session I
worked very hard with my team trying to find the right solution and I’m confident for tomorrow races. I’ll start from the sixth row and I will do my best to finish as far forward as possible
