One Percenter
Dave Nichols is the editor in chief of Easyriders magazine and has been instrumental in getting custom bikes on the TV. As a result he has over the years had many dealings with riders from the patch clubs that form part of the One Percenters and is therefore well qualified to try and explain the subject.
Anybody who has read the original book ‘Wild Ones’ will want to read this to further to increase their knowledge and understanding. It is a fascinating subject and is about motorcycle culture and society in general and should not be just dismissed as a book about lawlessness.
Any true died in the wool motorcyclist will end up nodding their heads when reading some of this book, although they might not publicly admit to doing so.
Also contained within the books 280 pages is a lot of history about motorcycling, especially the American scene. However, by the end of the book Nichols is talking very much about the modern day rebel, or weekend warrior, often known as a ‘Rubbie’ or ‘rich urban biker’ which could easily be you!
This book may not be to everyone’s taste, but I would suggest that it is should be high on your list of books to read. Interesting people that ride bikes are one of the reasons we all ride them as much as the ride themselves.
