Motorcycling ambassador and self styled adventurer Charley Boorman has recently completed another epic adventure, whilst it does feature Charley riding a BMW R 1200 GS, this is not a pure motorcycling adventure. Rather it is Charley and Russ Malkin (producer) and camera men Mungo and Nat Jessel taking a boys own trip across Canada using a variety of transport but more importantly undertaking a number of challenges. In this book Charley takes us through his lightning 10,300 mile trip across Canada in which he crosses 10 Canadian Provinces, 2 frontiers, 3 oceans and 4 extreme frontiers, whilst travelling east to west across Canada. The book presents an entertaining and easy read for those who enjoy following Charley’s adventures. In this narrative Charley details the many amazing challenges he undertakes including diving on shipwrecks, kayaking through the wilderness, caving, climbing, rodeo, dirt biking, iceberg hunting to name just a few of the activities. Along the way Charley gets to meet some real Canadian characters and obviously enjoy the fantastic outdoor lifestyle that Canada offers. The book also features over 40 colour photo’s that will help the reader share visually in Charley’s challenges. The book contains many entertaining anecdotes as Charley interacts with cowboys and cowgirls Canadian Mounties, dinosaur hunters, gold prospectors, lobster catchers and ice hockey players and more. The book really gives the reader a flavour of the Canadian lifestyle and the vastness of this massive country, in fact the second largest country in the world. Canada still contains real wilderness and Charley’s adventurous romp across it allows you the reader to enjoy one of the last remaining extreme frontiers in the world. Charley Boormans Extreme Frontiers is available from all good book stores and online book retailers, priced from £20 or less. Review by Jon Booth - www.inter-bike.co.uk
