Where Angels Fear to Tread by Linda Bootherstone

E-mail
Where Angels Fear to TreadIf you look amongst the numerous adventure motorcycle publications that have appeared lately you will not find this book by Linda Bootherstone, which is a shame, because it will easily stand shoulder to shoulder with some. In fairness though it is perhaps not directly aimed at the motorcycle market despite it telling the tale of her journey on an old BMW motorcycle over 17 months in three continents.

Linda is not your classic adventurer, being just 5’ 2” tall and somewhat older than most that embark on such trips. The bike too is different, being a road going models not a GS version of the marque. Linda also has an interest in folk music and takes her tin whistle wherever she goes!

The text is liberally spread with poetry and words from songs and talks about people and cultures as much as it does about motorcycling. But, no back up vehicles, a female travelling alone and not staying in five star hotels, who is clearly very much a free spirit, makes an interesting and entertaining read.

The 230 plus pages in this soft-back are illustrated with black and white images from her travels and make the £11.99 asking price very reasonable for such an informative read. ISBN 978 1 4415 7931 7
Available from Orders@xlibris.com or in the UK from Sprit Games www.spiritgames.co.uk for £11.99 plus £2 post and packing.
