Superbike The Official Book 2009 -2010 by Claudio PorrozziAs the title suggests this is the FIM officially sanctioned season review of the 2009 World Superbike Championship. Compiled by Italian photographers Claudio and Fabrizio Porrozzi it is in hardback coffee table format with stunning colour images throughout its 194 pages.

Each round is covered with short but comprehensive English text backing up the images. At the rear the book it also covers the Supersport and Superstock races as well, but not in quite such depth as the WSB.

In addition to the chapters on the actual two races at each round, the teams, the riders and the bikes are also covered in their own chapters and there are some brilliant shots of the bikes without fairings showing how a WSB machine is put together compared to a normal road bike.
But, it is not all about hard, precise mechanical shots, there are a lot of candid rider shots and celebratory images capturing the human side behind the series, as well as the corporate racing images. Each though is pin sharp and well composed and combined they tell the story of a series which saw Ben Spies win in his rookie year.

What else can you say except that this is a book that does exactly as its title promises, gives you a complete overview of the 2009 WSB championship and provide an excellent historical record of the series. If you are a fan you cannot afford not to have this on your bookshelf and given that it is officially sanctioned, £27.50 is remarkably cheap for such a high quality book. ISBN 978 88 7911 468 4
