TT Isle of Man 2009 DVD by Duke MarketingWhat can you say that has not been said before about the yearly official revues of the TT racing and the coverage from Duke Marketing. Just when you think that they have used every trick in the book to produce scintillating coverage, they up the game still further.

Once again this years single disc delivers 238 minutes of breathtaking action of the fastest ever TT with John McGuiness putting the lap record up above 131mph. In addition, scoring his 15th TT win to make him the second highest winner behind the legendary Joey Dunlop.

Not to be outdone, Dave Molyneaux took his 14th win in the sidecar class to equal Mike Hailwood’s tally and history was made with the inaugural TTXGP for electric motorcycles. In fact there was just so much action it is a wonder that North One television managed to capture it all including the visit and lap by GP legend’s Valentino Rossi and Giacomo Agostini.

This year’s revue sees more on-board cameras than ever before and the introduction of Hi-Motion cameras mean that some of the slow motion sequences are spell-binding. It certainly makes you realise the top riders are on a different planet to the rest of us in terms of machine control!

But, this use of new technology has not meant that the usual in-depth interviews with riders have been forgotten any more than some of the behind the scenes footage that really adds to the overall programme and make it truly comprehensive.

You may have been there or seen some of the action on the evening TV coverage at the time, but now it is all in one place to provide a unique historical record that will build into an overall TT history that you can watch time and again. Talking of which, if you want all the revues from 1985 through to 1999 these are now available as a special boxed set (Ref DMDVD 1638).

But, for the time being I would say spend £19.46 for this year’s version, or £24.46 for a Steve Plater signed version and if you have Blue Ray they have a version for you as well! Beware though, if you are not hooked on the TT like the rest of us, you will be after watching this superb presentation that is must for your DVD motorcycle library.

Ref DMD1645 for the standard version, DMD1645XSP for the signed and DMD1658 for the Blue Ray version.
