Dirt Riding SkillsThis DVD is the companion to The Essential Guide to Dual Sport Motorcycling written by Carl Adams.  Ergo he has scripted, narrates and stars in this companion to the book which is quite often referred to in the narrative.

The DVD is an instructional work and presents various riding skills in a logical sequence, gradually building up to more difficult exercises. Each step is clearly demonstrated and the idea is that the viewer also goes out and practices what they have seen with the aid of a field guide which comes as part of the package.

Every step is demonstrated on the appropriate terrain, some of it being pretty spectacular. The narrative is clear and leaves you in no doubt about the various techniques. Slow motion is used with other techniques, including helmet cameras etc to make sure the point is well made.

The DVD stands on its own although I would say that due to the references made to the book throughout and the extra information contained within the book, they are best bought as a total package if you really want to improve your skills and techniques. However for those who prefer practical demonstrations to learn then this is god enough on its own and well worth the £23.40 asking price from Whitehorse Press who also publishes the excellent companion book.
