Focus 500 Inside Sheene's Championship Year 1976This title is another from the extensive BP film library classic archives remastered to modern format to enable it to be seen in the comfort of your own home.

It charts three Grand Prix form the 1976 season showing the different sides of Sheene – the dominant rider, the elbow-to-elbow racer and the outspoken critic of authority. Focus 500 is an important film and has never before been seen as its maker David Wood intended. Parts have been seen in other compilations, but never before has it been seen as one programme.

It starts with the first GP ever held at Mugello, the third round of the 1976 season. This is then followed by Assen the Dutch TT, before it ends with the Nurburgring and the West German GP, the last race of the year. With the title secured, Sheene refuses to ride and viewers join the new World Champion at his home as he explains exactly why he didn’t turn up.

The second half of the 64 minute DVD is about Assen and the story of the 1977 Dutch TT. More than just a race review, it is a fascinating documentary displaying the unique on and off-track atmosphere of the legendary Assen circuit.

Once again both films are superb and very atmospheric and show how big the grids used to be when racing was slightly more affordable. Very watchable, but still with the odd scratch, they really bring back memories, especially of one of the greatest riders and personalities this country has ever produced!

An absolute must for Sheene fans and anybody who never saw the Cheeky Cockney in action. Great value again at a modest £19.99 REF DMDVD1854
